Because I, the True Saint, was Banished, that Country is Done For!

Ever since she was a child, Eliane has been the saint and protector of the Kingdom of Belkheim, warding off monsters and ensuring bountiful harvests with her prayers. But when a pretender saint beguiles the foolish prince—to whom she is engaged—into believing she is nothing but a fraud, he calls off the marriage and banishes her from the kingdom. Homeless and penniless but free to chart her own course for the first time in her life, Eliane decides to make for the neighboring kingdom, where she hopes to blend in as a commoner and lead a quiet life…but a chance encounter on the road will totally upend her modest plans.

After saving a mysterious nobleman named Nigel on the road to Linchigham, Eliane is shocked to discover he is none other than its crown prince. He invites her to the castle, where the grateful king invites her to stay with them. After she lifts a dark curse that was ailing the royal family pet, however, Nigel begins to suspect that she may be more than the simple healer she claims to be. Meanwhile back in Belkheim Castle, the dragon has taken human form, and found his way into the bunker where Prince Claude and Leticia have hidden from his overwhelming might...

After Eliane reveals her true identity to Nigel, he agrees to keep her secret. Now free to use more of her saintly powers, she casts a barrier of protection over the city. A grateful Nigel asks her to consider settling down in Linchigham, and professes he would like to get to know her better. Eliane doesn’t know how to respond to the earnest and handsome prince, but soon finds herself getting comfortable in what is fast becoming a new home. But then one morning in the courtyard, she encounters what may be her greatest challenge yet—the precocious and adorable little Princess Cecily, who absolutely refuses, under any and all circumstances, to eat her vegetables.

Prodded along by Douglas, Eliane finds herself on what she’s pretty sure is a date with Prince Nigel. Dressed in casual, fashionable outfits to avoid being recognized in public—including, Eliane notes, a rather flattering pair of glasses—they draw admiring glances from the townsfolk as a particularly fetching couple. But when she's hit on by a trio of obnoxious playboy types who just can't take a hint, Nigel looks ready to throw them on their heads. Restraining himself, he instead tells them to quit harassing his…girlfriend?

Eliane and her allies race to confront the mysterious stranger who has been terrorizing the woods around Linchigham while demanding to see “the fake Saint, Eliane.” Empowered by a malevolent curse that has also turned the forest’s monsters feral, the stranger quickly proves too powerful for Nigel and Ralph to handle. Out of options, Eliane finds herself having to resort to the riskiest of her saintly powers to have any chance of surviving—the double-edged Goddess’s Blessing.

With Leticia’s curse lifted and peace returning to Linchigham, Eliane is hopeful that life will be a little less stressful for a while… Only, there’s the small matter of Prince Nigel’s royal birthday party, and giving him her gift of homemade cookies. Overwhelmed by the throng of adoring guests and their much fancier presents, Eliane retreats to a quiet balcony to regroup. She’s pleasantly surprised when Nigel comes out to find her, but he looks…kind of serious?

After successfully aiding the fairies and establishing diplomatic ties with their kingdom, Eliane and Nigel return to Linchigham looking forward to some well-deserved rest. But Nigel wants to make one stop before the castle—a magical laboratory, where he wants to drop off the special water gifted to them by the fairies for analysis. Having long dreamed of becoming an apothecary, Eliane is completely fascinated by the lab and their production of potions. The lab’s director offers to show her the ropes, and she jumps at the chance—but the combination of the fairies’ water and her saintly magic yields some unexpected results…

When Nigel mentions that an old school friend is coming to visit, Eliane is excited to meet him—and to make a good impression. But her excitement turns to trepidation when she learns that he’s known as the Ice Duke for his bracingly cold and businesslike manner, and his penchant for offering harsh and unvarnished opinions. Her anxiety isn’t unfounded—he’s heard about her, too, and he has some concerns about this mysterious healer who’s suddenly come into the prince’s life and swept him off his feet…

Eliane prepares for another visit to the fairies, oblivious to the fact that the greater demon Baltur has turned her eyes toward the Fairy Woods after completing her conquest of Belkheim. As far as Eliane is concerned, her only problem is choosing who will accompany her on the trip this time—Ralph the Divine Beast or Douglas the Dragon—without hurting either of their feelings. After deftly accomplishing this task with some sound reasoning and a little appealing to Douglas’s ego, she and Ralph are soon making good time across the peaceful countryside. But when they stop to check on a little boy crying beside the road, they realize far too late that they’ve fallen into a perfectly laid trap.

The greater demon Baltur has been vanquished, all thanks to Eliane and her companions. When she confesses to Nigel how grateful she is to have such supportive friends, he tells her that she never needs to stand alone again. Overcome by the moment, they kiss. But Eliane has another confession to make—one that’s been weighing on her for a long time, and one that’s a little more complicated to broach. She wants to save the Kingdom of Belkheim from the demons occupying it. It would be costly, dangerous, and would mean saving her former fiancé, who’s shown nothing but disdain for her and Linchigham. And to have any chance at all, she’ll need all the help she can get.

After Eliane and her allies liberate Belkheim from the demon army, she finds herself face-to-face with her former fiancé, Claude. She braces for another unpleasant argument with the foolish prince, but is shocked to find that his usual arrogance is all but gone. Instead, he falls to his knees and begs her for forgiveness, pleading with her to help Leticia. Eliane can’t help but feel a tinge of saintly compassion for the scheming couple, despite all they’ve done to her… But can that Claude really have changed?

Thanks to Leticia’s hexer knowledge, Eliane uncovers a secret entrance to an ancient labyrinth beneath Belkheim Castle’s throne room. Hoping to find the Demon King and First Saint sealed in its depths, Nigel and Eliane prepare to descend—but are surprised when Leticia insists on joining them. Determined to repay Eliane for healing her, Leticia makes the case that a skilled hexer could be of use down there, and the two can’t help but agree. But all three are doubly surprised when Claude—out of concern for Leticia's safety—declares that he's coming, too! What will this ragtag party find in the darkness at the end of the maze?!
