After the IZUMO company pulls the funding from Kazami’s Blade Project and sends him back to the United States, Rin follows his parting advice and joins her high school’s track and field team. There, training with talented athletes who have the use of both legs, she learns some key lessons about running. When Kazami eventually returns with a new plan to convince IZUMO to reopen the dev lab, she’s overjoyed…but IZUMO turns him down, and he resigns from the company. Without a sponsor but more determined than ever, Rin, Kazami, and the reassembled crew decide to set out on their own, with their sights set firmly on the Paralympics.
